Description
The San Fernando Carriage Tours from Lone Star Carriage Tours offers a view of San Antonio from an elegant, white Victorian carriage as you explore the San Fernando Cathedral area. The church was built in 1731 at what is considered the center of San Antonio, a spot chosen by colonists sent there by King Philip of Spain. The Cathedral is filled with history and troubled times, including a flood in 1819 and a fire in 1828 which destroyed the building. The next 50 years were spent renovating and rebuilding to restore the beautiful church to its original splendor. With your choice of narrated or non-narrated tours you can learn more about the history of the San Fernando Cathedral area or simply treat yourself to a quiet romantic ride through the streets.
